1. Gee...
Did this really get NO response?
Maybe it was the title? Or maybe because her cause only represents 7% of the American population, it's not worth a comment. But I wish somebody had something to say about this. An 11 year old girl stood before a crowd of 800,000 people and reminded them that African-American girls and women are dying from gun violence but it isn't making the news, and they are just statistics. And she wanted to give them a voice. Sixteen black girls went missing in Washington, DC last year and it barely made the news. Not Jon Benet beautiful. What do we have to do to get more people to care about these girls, to champion these girls, to seek justice for these girls, and to cherish and protect these girls? Seven percent of the American population. But still deserving. |

3. The title?
IDK, it came from a place of love. I felt my heart filling with love, pride, and hope as I watched Naomi's impassioned plea on my behalf. On behalf of my daughter, little cousins, and all the others across the world like us........she spoke. I just remember saying " represent", as she spoke. She said names.....the names that do not make the front pages. The names that do not garner the tsunami of ops asking "where's the humanity".
I just guessed that the low response may be because I'm a lower count poster. I just don't know. |

7. Probably because many here gave her props in other threads on Saturday.
People were posting thread after thread about the march/speakers... sometimes with that kind of volume, people miss some of the discussions/comments.

I think people who say this are really underestimating the power of social media.
