Elon Musk deletes own, SpaceX and Tesla Facebook pages after #deletefacebook

Elon Musk apparently wasnít aware that his company SpaceX had a Facebook page. The SpaceX and Tesla CEO has responded to a comment on Twitter calling for him to take down the SpaceX, Tesla and Elon Musk official pages in support of the #deletefacebook movement by first acknowledging he didnít know one existed, and then following up with promises that he would indeed take them down.

Heís done just that, as the SpaceX Facebook page is now gone, after having been live earlier today.

2. That's too bad

I like the sources of information being available on the platform, just as I enjoy seeing things posted from the local Museums, Zoo, County Library and groups that I find interesting.

That someone might track my clicks on Space.com's page or the National WWII Museum I don't see as a huge issue.

3. Each institution could lay out a few bucks, or a few more, for their own website.

FB is secondary, and look, no algorithms tracking your every click.

4. They all do have their own sites

Itís just more convenient to have news and updates appear in one aggregator.

5. Oh, rest assured that their own websites are tracking every click as well.

7. Interesting thread on large amounts of new bot accounts on Twitter that appear to have been

created to get #deletefacebook trending:
