8. I Googled. It's Celtic. I'd like to know why he chose it and why he shows it so

clearly in the picture.

6. Heh. Coptic, Celtic ....

I think it is the Celtic variation. The ornamentation looks Celtic as well.

7. You are right. Makes me wonder about him.

What does that mean? Why did he pick that?

9. This ADL explainer distinguishes between the Celtic cross and the white nationalist "wheel cross"

11. Actually it is the way he appears to have bared his arm to show the cross that made

me wonder. It's the way the picture is taken.

Apparently it is an Irish cross. We shall see. It is quite an elaborate cross.

12. I agree with you.

You flaunt it, I want to know why.

15. It's worth asking, because of the prominence of the tattoo in the photo

But Golden's not a newbie; he's apparently been in the state legislature for several years. I think anything sinister would have become apparent by now, even if he'd gotten in as some sort of white nationalist mole.

10. Golden can be an Irish name. It's an Irish cross. I wouldn't worry about it. n/t

3. Read his positions on issues. I like them.

I would support him in an election if I were a resident/voter in Maine -- no question.

13. I have difficulties to understand the words on his shirt in this you-tube-clip

"Pain is weakness leaving the body". What is that supposed to mean? Or did I read this wrong (my English is painfully bad sometimes, too)?
Isn't this offensive to people with chronic pain because of illness or disability?
And while this may be a useful attitude for a soldier it's also disturbing, IMHO, because it shows a sort of mercilessness. If he is so adamant on himself, can he be compassionate and caring for others who are not so strong?

Not sure, though.

16. I thought so. But what do you think how...

... it appeals to Americans who have no military background?
From my European perspective it seems not appropriate but I'm well aware that USA is different.
