I'm reading "Fire and Fury." The author has an iinteresting theory.

He says that many of Trump's supporters really thought he was going to lose against HRC. They signed on to his campaign with an eye on a cushy job in the media as political talking heads after he loses the election. He compares it to that wonderful comedy "The Producers."

The flying fickle finger of fate...

1. Putin had other plans.

..or Team Treason underestimated the stupidity/propaganda susceptibility of the American people.

2. Pretty sure it is not just a theory.

People told him that.

4. The worst infliction on us is Conway.

Mika banned her from MJ because she just lies all the time.

The book deals with Joe and Mica's relationship with Trump prior to the election and how/why they turned on Trump. I wonder if they regret giving him the air time they gave him.

The SNL skit where Wolff talks about the "baby races" still makes me chuckle...

5. Popular theory

It was opined well before the election that Trump, and much of his family, were in this to boost the Trump "brand". It would be no surprise to find out that many around him thought it was a "ticket punch" to higher positions within the GOP/Conservative movement. I have a slightly similar theory about various folks on the left that were considering protest votes of some sort such as 3rd party, write in, and blank votes. They never thought for a second that he'd actually win, but would get to say "don't blame me..." and buy the bumper sticker for their car.

I've been waiting for the "don't blame me, I was with Her" bumper stickers.

(It occurs to me that of all the smilies we need, the iconic H with the right pointing arrow might be a useful one.)

6. I listened to it on audibles. At times, eye opening. I also recommend

David Frum's: Trumpocracy - not an insider's glimpses/gossipy - but an insider (used to be) to the landscape of GOP politics and the grave dangers (and craven complicitness of the GOP) posed by Trump.
