In Tillerson's speech, he didn't mention Trump once.

I find that fascinating.

Can't wait for the first interview that Tillerson gives, now that he's shaken the shackles.

5. Tillerson will be looking for a positon with a base starting salary of 20 million or more per year.

Everything he does is scripted. This is all about a smooth exit while attempting to save face.

7. Tillerson is no hero

The only reason he became SOS, was because he cut a 500 billion+ deal with Russia’s Rosneft.
His former job was as CEO of Exxon/Mobile and as SOS he was there to facilitate Exxon’s dominance providing Putin with access to American oil extraction technologies.

Rex is no saint, and he is certainly no patriot.

8. +1, what the hell did Tillerson expect ?! Red Don fired Comey cause of Russia investigation and

... then bragged to the Russians about it in the oval office.

10. Tillerson reminded State Dept employees of their actual Oath: to defend the Constitution...

I believe he read it almost in its entirety. Just in case anyone in this sad nation thinks there is an oath to be loyal to the person of the POTUS, this is a reminder of what every government employee's oath actually is about. Tillerson made a point of saying that everyone, whether career or appointed, takes this oath.

I am no particular admirer of Rex Tillerson's, but he got that one right.

He sounded gut-punched.

11. "He sounded gut-punched"

To which I can reply only with, "Well Wayne or Rex, what did you think was going to happen when you went to work for Donald Trump?" Did it leave you breathless, or with a nasty scar?

Nobody ever listens to Taylor.

12. Sure he knew it was coming, but in the end the headsman's axe still comes as a blow. Sadly...

...I think there are an indeterminate but small number of people who joined this White House believing they could control or moderate this monster's behavior, only to discover they could not. Regarding those people, one has to ask how many stayed close to Hitler in the early years hoping to somehow save their country from destruction. God have mercy on their blackened souls.

Of course, many more rode Trump's coattails to power hoping to enjoy the fruits of that power for themselves, also thinking they could control the monster inside him, but they too are at risk every day -- firing being the least of those risks, as prison awaits so many of them if Mueller can complete his job. I have no sympathy for any such. None.
