Trump could feed every homeless Vet for the cost of his military parade

TRUMP COULD FEED EVERY HOMELESS VETERAN FOR THE COST OF HIS MILITARY PARADE, EVEN CONSERVATIVELY ESTIMATED

BY RYAN SIT ON 3/11/18 AT 11:05 AM

President Donald Trump's military parade is set to kick off on Veterans Day, but at a cost that even conservative estimates show could feed every homeless veteran for at least two weeks, a Newsweek analysis found.

The military showcase was initially estimated to cost $10 million and $30 million, White House budget director Mick Mulvaney told the House Budget Committee in February. That cost accounted for Trump’s vision of tanks rolling through Washington DC—not unlike what he witnessed in France during its Bastille Day celebration, or what occurs in North Korea, China and Russia—though a Pentagon memo originally obtained by CNN on Friday nixed the use of heavy military vehicles.

Though not an exact science—parade cost estimates included using tanks et al., and it's impossible to determine exact figures of homelessness by nature of their transience—these numbers provide a financial comparison and a look at the Trump administration’s priorities.

Using the most conservative estimates available from federal agencies and non-profit organizations, Newsweek found Trump could completely eliminate hunger among homeless veterans, serving them three meals a day, for at least 14 days.

And yes, it is quite the task, esp. as age kicks in. Not fun. No sight nor much hearing left after living in a tank in Germany during the Korean war. As for the VA, attitude is "never wanted a thing to do w/them. Why now?". Now this IS SAD!

is only for Trump himself... want to honor Vets?? yes, take care of their real needs... my partner, a Vietnam Veteran assures me that troops and Veterans don't want a parade and they don't want to march in a parade...

they are countless other and better ways to honor our service members

endeavors. He wants the military to honor him as a hero when he has never been anything but a draft-dodging fucking coward. God, I just hate him so much!

The media needs to beat this message like a drum over and over, non-stop!! What a waste of money when this money could actually be used to help the vets!

Despite his lies every time he opens his mouth, this has nothing to do with honoring our military, all to do with a pretense for himself. He wants this and he wants to use it in all his campaign ads showing how "mighty" he is, when he's really very weak, incompetent, stupid, ignorant and not even really Commander in Chief when he abdicates all decisions to the military, except those he makes on Putin's behalf. He's a total fool and I am so ashamed of our country for letting Russia steal the country for him and themselves.

Trump will be like the little boy he becomes when he signs a document and holds it up to show what he's done. "See how big my military is? And all the airplanes? We have the best airplanes in the world!

He's still trying to decide whether he wants to be Grand Marshal or just review the troops. Seriously.

If he's still in office next year -- and he probably will be -- expect him to want to do the same thing again, only BIGGER! Why not moor the aircraft carrier Ronald Reagan in the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool?

"OK, let's see here. I could order the VA to feed every homeless vet in the country for two weeks, and get cheered for that for months afterward. The Democrats would hate me for doing something compassionate and sensible. Or, I could order the parade and have the uniformed military salute me for a few hours, and my fans wold have an orgasm lasting well into the night. Hell, I might, too, if Hope wants to play for old times' sake. This is a no brainer. ORDER THE PARADE!"
