There is no reason to pay attention whatsoever. They always seem to choose the fringiest nut balls who don't have a chance in the general election. So, whoever they choose makes no difference. They always pick losers.

Obama is not going to be beat by any of these clowns on a level playing field and I seriously doubt that he will lie down like Kerry did in '04 when the pukes start their vote machine shenanagans like they did with Gore and later with Kerry.
You ever notice that in those two elections, that they stole the presidency with, the votes changed during the night after the fact. Florida and Ohio both. I went to bed both nights knowing that Gore and then Kerry had won to wake the next morning and nope they changed the numbers to where neither won. I say we need to do something about the paperless trail voting machines and do it soon. When Oklahoma went nuts with inhofe was when we started using an optical scan counting system and then they raised the cost of a recount beyond the scope of what anyone who votes at our prescient can afford, all of us together even. Yeah we/they better wake up and do it pretty durn soon or we won't have a USA to kick around anymore.

You and I and most here are awake, its those who blindly go though life that concerns me. Some people live and learn some just live. Those are the people who worried the piss out of me

Have a great year

When the Teabaggers get thrown out on their asses in the next couple of elections the Republican party will begin to recover.

On the other hand, it's human nature to look at and study those who would kill us. Either way they have our attention.

Some people love watching guys chase rats through apartment buildings and call that entertainment. Other like watching old washed up celebrities make fools of themselves and call that entertainment...and then there are the political junkies who always need some kinda fix...Iowa is like crystal meth. It's something that's taken a long time to cook and no matter how much you hate it you just can't resist it. Then once you get the fix its over...you need something new.

As an indication of this country's political climate or having any real long term impact on the overall results in November, Iowa is a blip...but for the pundits, pollsters and political operatives, it's been the promised land. On to the next big fix in New Hamsphire and so on...

Come on, Malaise, admit it...you're an addict. You'll need the fix...so will I (as well as the laughs). I mean, what else is there to watch? More Kardashians? A Music Television channel that has no music? Or History channel that is expecting the world to end?

Happy New Years and Cheers!

I took about an hour of Morning Joe today and realized that the sun had risen and it was going to be a nice day and I had many things on my To Do list. With a magic click of the remote, those voices were silenced! It was a great feeling.

I get he top of the news and the Republican Talking Points and the polls and that is all I need. You can keep informed without subjecting yourself to torment akin to Water Torture...

And so will I and everyone else around here. It's fun to piss and moan and laugh (and I do a lot of all three) but it's still there and beats watching a majority of what's on the teevee. I keep CoMSNBCast on as background noise during the day...like a sports junkie keeps on SportsCenter...purely for the noise and entertainment value. Those who take this stuff too seriously need therapy.

Cheers...

Just the Talking Points and then, zap until I check in from 5 to 6 with Tweety. Then dinner and conversation and no tv til MJ, whenever I wake up (I learned here that they repeat stuff on that show so I do not fear missing anything good).

Oh, and therapy? For me it's my lovely public library where I hunt down art books....keeps me sane.

I have many here. You are right...you can miss a lot of these shows and still get the talking points. The blogosphere is loaded with places to see them. It's also what's made DU fun in the past...no sooner is some poutrage or talking point put out on some cable channel and it's posted here.

Politics are just a part of a bigger world I enjoy living in...books, music, family...more than I can handle at times.

Cheers to you...and happy new year!

Just got finished watching "Murdoch: Breaking the Spell?" and now watching "How to Start A Revolution". I've see both before but they are both worth watching multiple times. Later they will be showing "The 99 Percent" about the Occupy movement. I'll probably watch that, too.

Tonight I might watch Current's coverage of the Iowa mess, but I'm not sure.
