When I was a young man...

there was a guy that would hang around with my buddies and I.

For the most part, he basically wasn't a bad guy, but for the other part, he was a colossal asshole.

At first we would gently tell him, "Hey, John, don't be a jerk, okay?"

And he would settle down for a while, but most of the time, when we were out trying to pick up girls, etc, he would spew out the most inappropriate comments.

We would take him aside and say, "dude, what is wrong with you? You don't say shit like that in public. Shut up".

And he would again settle down for a while.

but it got to a point where he would say the most inappropriate things all the time.

Like he suffered from some sort of complete breakdown in social norms.

Finally, we all just stopped letting him know what we were doing and avoided him like the plague.

Basically, he was an asshole.

Why am I bringing this up? because the more and more I hear the things that mitt says, the more I'm reminded of this guy I knew years ago.

the only difference between the guy I knew and mittens is: mittens has money and can pay off the people around him to listen to his stupidity and treat it like it's some sort of "wisdom".

And somehow this is considered a positive aspect by the republican party.

But then again, I guess I have always know that the repubs considered being an asshole a virtue.
