the truth of the Schiff memo because, well, 2 weeks is a long time, and the public now believes the Nunes lies, and - well, guns, and things have moved on, and on and on.
I am in a Hartford hotel and thought I'd check the news after my workshop - that (my statement above) seems to be the story based upon two brief summary spots, on MSNBC and CNN.
WTF have we come to as a country (well "that" half, anyway) when huge, important stories like this have a microsecond freshness date - too bad if it is just lies - and truth can't penetrate, because - well, it's hard work, and we've moved on.
If this is truly what half of our country is about, then we are in ever deeper shit than I could imagine. There simply is no reaching them - the trumpers are lost. Gone. Permanently twisted and adrift in their own sad little world of lies.
And I won't even start on the discussion I overheard in the area where we waited for our gate check carry on luggage to arrive - a woman and her son talking about the "wonderful CPAC event" she attended (she claimed she was in public policy in CT), and how "inspiriting it was to see so many young republicans - and how of course the security has to be tight because the liberals hate, just hate trump and want to kill him".
Wow....All I said was "I will likely be the most liberal, Democratic person you meet - and I am so proud to be so". She walked away.

(60,536 posts)and the media is there too. Things will begin to change very shortly. Dem/progressive analysis has begun, e.g., Talking Points Memo. The 'pukes haven't read or analyzed anything, they're just running at the mouth and following Nunes' lead.

(1,294 posts)I am thankful the Dems kept pushing to release this memo in response to Nunes garbage, but a) after all of the buildup of first memo, it was dead on arrival. Only the 20-30% who wanted to believe did so. And b)the information coming out of Muler investigation is so much more specific and damning that this second redacted memo just ends up being some light seasoning on the main course.
We now know senior members of Trumps campaign and transition team were both corrupt and in communication with Russians close to Putin.
We know Manafort had every reason to be compromised as did Gates, and they made offers of inside policy info to the Russians.
Still quite a bit to unravel, nail down, and exposebut I feel very comfortable with where things are heading in that it validates what many of us have believed since before the GOP convention.
