Every single what we call "deplorable" was ANTI Russian, ANTI Vladimir Putin
before Trump wasn't.
What changed? Our intelligence community's opinion of Putin being a murderous dictator determined to destroy our country, didn't change... Putin's own actions of murder and destroying democracies wherever he could didn't change... What changed?

1. A cult follows its leader. Even unto drinking the literal and figurative Kool-Aid.

2. This is the fundamental thing we need to know about them. Once we understand this, everything
they do makes sense: they have no actual opinions themselves. Their positions depend entirely on OUR positions. If WE object to Putin's tampering with the election, THEY will suddenly be all on the side of Putin and election tampering.
This example is so extreme that it proves the thesis. They are actually supportive of Putin tampering with American elections, and they took up that position when we began to object to Putin tampering with the elections. But this dynamic works for basically EVERY republican position. They don't care about abortion. They want to ban it because WE think it is an important right. They don't care about guns. They began to stockpile them when WE took an objection to them. They don't care about religion. They resurged and became evangelists when WE began to try to get serious about moving religion out of politics. I could go on and on. They have no positions other than, "If it bothers a Democrat, I will be sure to fight for it." |

6. This is probably the best analysis I have seen.
The thing about it is that they have no actual opinions and depend upon others to give them to them. They get these from their environmental sources: Fox/family/friends(or so they think)/facebook/twitter/etc. The capacity for critical analysis is sadly lacking. More Charter schools sure isn't the remedy for this, is it?

7. Yes. And they adopt those opinions because those opinions soothe their feelings of inferiority.
And Fox, etc, know how to feed that insecurity by riling them up and telling them we are trying to take things from them. They have convinced them they are discriminated against when they are and always have been the discriminators.
It's really, really sick. |

5. Sure it is a given these deplorables are against the adults in the room, but they were also
very anti Russia and Putin until trump wasnt.
Well, trump never was but they didnt know that. Trump is a psychopath and sociopath, in real life he is those things, so he doesnt see good and bad, left and right. |
