When I heard the news today I said "WHAT?????". And this is likely to continue into 2019! I don't know if I will be able to maintain my sanity.

to offer Mueller.

So maybe Gates did his proffer, and Mueller said, no thanks. (Which Mueller can do. He can't use Gates's statement against him, but he can use it as the basis for doing further digging.)

Or maybe Gates did his proffer, and Mueller caught him in a lie and said: the deal's off.

And if Gates was caught in a lie, and still wants a plea deal, then he's looking at a longer sentence.

I bet the S.C. said 'thanks but no thanks' to whatever info Gates was trying to bargain with they may be getting full of low hanging fruit and will see what Gates does over next few weeks as they continue the investigation of the Russian Mob/Trump Admin.

Reminds me of a question "who are all the S.C. prosecuting attorneys who are going to take up all these likely upcoming court trials the media is talking about?" I understand Mueller and his team are investigating but who is doing the actual prosecution?
