Mother of slain teacher confronts NRA rep: Why are her son's unalienable rights less important?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=78&v=g44Rwj2pfoA

Scott Biegel was a geography teacher at Stoneman Douglas High School. He was killed in the mass shooting last week, students reported he was heroically saving their lives when he was gunned down. From CNN:

Kelsey Friend, one of Beigel's students, told CNN in an emotional interview that he was shot outside the classroom door and that he saved her life.

"Mr. Beigel was my hero and he still will forever be my hero. I will never forget the actions that he took for me and for fellow students in the classroom," she said. "I am alive today because of him."

Last night Beigel’s mother, Linda Biegel Schulman, somehow found the strength to attend CNN’s town hall and confront NRA spokesperson Dana Loesch on national television to ask one very important question: Why was her son’s right to ‘life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness’ less important than that the right to bear arms?

It was a powerful moment and something we should be asking every politician running in 2018 and beyond.

The Declaration of Independence was written in 1776, which gave my son the unalienable right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. So I ask you, why are my son's unalienable rights not protected as fiercely as the right to bear arms?

That is what Dana keeps saying. Who determines whether or not someone is innocent. That is what I'm hearing.

Are there non-innocent people???

and

Are they the ones who should be shot and killed?

I guess I'm just a little confused by her statement.
