These kids are our future and their own future. That they arent gonna take it anymore and getting out to stand for their beliefs is a lesson for us all.
This could be as significant as the days of the Vietnam War protests. (Disclaimer, I live in a Midwest city that is and was VERY active in those and many other protests and I think they are a perfect way to advance a cause). They are refusing to be victims, and they are refusing to be party to a suicide pact, and they are refusing to accept the bile and lies and pretense of their congressional representatives.
Inaction will no longer be accepted. Diversion and delay will be met with the force of youth and its sense of indefatigable hope, intelligence and vision and energy.
Watching these kids also suggests that we are seeing the reality for the future of the Republican Party and the NRA and its nillist selfishness in spreading weapons of mass child destruction. When they are full fledged adults they will not forget who supported them and who fought against their safety.
I wish these kids luck and good fortune in this endeavor.
