Trumps lawyer committed a crime

As I stated yesterday, trump’s lawyer admitted to a crime. It’s an “in-kind” contribution that directly benefited the candidate.

9. if that's the law, that may give him just enough wiggle room.

the lawyer can claim he did it of his of free will, the campaign never had anything to do with it, no cooperation, consultation, etc.

of course, it's hard to imagine he wasn't reimbursed somehow at some point and we can hope a good prosecutor could figure out how, or otherwise show that the campaign in fact did cooperate.

then there's the question of how did he come by the knowledge in the first place that stormy needed to be paid hush money, and wouldn't that have required consultation with the campaign -- with donnie himself?

15. he never said the rnc wasn't a prty to the transaction...

just that trump campaign and transition funds weren't the source of the money.

Money is fungible however; (of goods contracted for without an individual specimen being specified) able to replace or be replaced by another identical item; mutually interchangeable. "money is fungible—money that is raised for one purpose can easily be used for another".

He likely received a compensating contract to make up the funds. Legal fees can add up quickly if people don't question the underlying work.

11. Cohen says Trump campaign was not "a party to the transaction."

Ah no because Cohen gets his money from Trump or the Trump organization.
My guess is the money came from the Trump campaign and or Russia.

12. I hope somebody filed an ethics complaint with the appropriate Bar association.

In my state, at least, it would be investigated properly and might result in suspension of his license to practice law.

13. So what? Who is going to do anything about it.

The GOP run government is in disarray. And Democrats are busy doing, well, I dunno. What are Democrats doing?

16. huh?

What pwer do the dems have, other than for a ted lieu to stand up and make statements?

We don't control a single committee. We don't control the scheduling or voting on legislation in either house. We don't control the white house.

What exactly is it you expect the democrats to be doing, other than committing political suicide?
