And now, a story about the current political climate dividing a family

Parents Of Republican Senate Hopeful Max Out Donations To Democratic Opponent

The parents of a Republican Senate hopeful in Wisconsin have maxed out donations to the primary campaign of the Democrat he hopes to unseat.

Just months after Republican Kevin Nicholson announced his bid to run against incumbent Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wis.) in 2018, Nicholson’s own parents donated the legal maximum to Baldwin’s primary campaign, CNN reports.

Nicholson’s parents, Donna and Michael, reportedly donated $2,700 to Baldwin in December 2017. Nicholson had announced in July that he was seeking the Republican nomination for the Senate seat.

Thanksgiving should be fun at the Nicholson house!

Understand what caused such a gap between parents and son.

He did say his parents thought different than he did.

What earthly reason could he have for becoming a Republican in this time?

The only thing I can come up with is he must believe the Trump lies that he will help the average person.Despite what Trump has done in office. Maybe he thinks that will make him famous.

He was a Dem growing up, but changed to R in the Gulf War, according to a brief bio I heard on MSNBC.

So that would mean he backed the first Gulf war.

I would like to hear his explanation of the second one.

Thanks.

I was wondering if the subject of this post backed the second Gulf war!

Nothing to do with Democrats. He became Republican during the first Gulf war. His parents are still Democrats.

Middle class parents, born in the 20s, who voted for Ike and supported Korea and Nam, and whose dads fought in WWII. Meanwhile their kids were protesting Vietnam and burning their draft cards.
