What the hell, New York Times?

Ever wanted a NYT reporter who talks like an ignorant 15-year-old bully? Well, you got your wish. What an embarrassment.

NY Times ‘Very Concerned’ Over Tweets By Its Nazi-Befriending Editorial Board Hire

Quinn Norton has tweeted that she’s friends with neo-Nazis, and has used slurs on a regular basis.

The New York Times is investigating past tweets by Quinn Norton, a journalist who just joined the paper’s editorial board, HuffPost has learned.

At around noon on Tuesday, the company’s communications department tweeted that it had hired Norton as its “lead opinion writer on the power, culture and consequences of technology.”

Twitter users immediately began pointing to her past tweets, in which she’s admitted she’s “friends with various neo-Nazis” ― though she says she has “never agreed with them.” In other tweets, she’s called users “fag” and used racial slurs.

Controversial new NYT editorial board member out within hours
The latest addition to the New York Times' editorial board lasted less than half a day, departing the job over previous social media postings in which she used offensive language and admitted she was friends with neo-Nazis, while saying she did not agree with them.

At around midday Tuesday, the Times announced it had hired Quinn Norton, who most recently worked at Wired, to serve as its "lead opinion writer on the power, culture and consequences of technology."

By 9 p.m. the same day, Norton said on Twitter that she would no longer be working with the Times, the culmination of several hours of intense criticism directed at her over some of her previous writings on the site.
