My Twitter account just unfollowed 1,500 people

Out of the blue. Has anyone else ever heard of this happening? I was hacked last month and lost two years worth of followers in the blink of an eye. Twitter support didn't do squat about it either.


Update, my follow count was down to 9 last night, this morning they are all back. So weird, in the four years and 3 different accounts, I have never seen anything like it.

5. I tend to block a lots more accounts thna I follow....

I ck out tweets made in the past, don't accept commercial accounts, etc.

9. When I was hacked the first time, I went to sign in

And it wouldn't let me, it kept sending me in a circles when I was trying to contact them. When they responded within a couple hours, it was a generic statement that I needed to change my username and password, which I had done about 10 times. Then one of my followers sent me a message, asking if I unfollowed them, I was so glad my social media notifications go to my email, and I finally had an idea about whay was happening. The only thing that happened before is I was being followed by a flood of soft porn accounts, I don't follow anyone like that. Since then, I know to block and report each of them.

10. You can go to this site to see which accounts unfollowed you

If the accounts have been deleted or put on probation by Twitter then you will see an "Account restricted" header across the middle/timeline part of the user's page.

Unfollowed all of the people I follow, except for 9 of them. Weirdest thing they are all back this morning.
