so that any advantage gained would be temporary, at best, and the less Citizens United becomes settled law, the better.

The reckless tax cuts have poisoned this country. Starving the government for another year (starving us in the process) should not be on the table. Ever.

Everyone gets to keep the tax cut on their first 200K (I was single until April so I'm familiar with the single limits) and the first 250K if they are married. This is what is in place today.

The difference - my husband and I would be paying a higher tax rate on every single penny we earn over the first 250K.

Trust me - it's not going to hurt us. And we live in Central NJ in a community with an extremely high cost of living.

Doesn't matter - let them all expire if Boehner and CantDO Nuthin' are unwilling to help the couple that only makes 100K in our community.

Then put them back during the next congress for those who are under the limits.

It's simple.

Then the following year there will be another deal, a deal for something we shouldn't have to dea for.

This is the end of the line.

Jump off the cliff. If it costs us seats then so be it.

It will trigger massive defensive cuts and the cuts to the social programs we will have to bear.

In the future the Republicans will be much more likely to come to a reasonable agreement because they know that we have limits.

Right now we are enablers. We enable the Republicans to be crazy.

Now is the time to make them pay for their insanity.

negotiated at the same time.

There is no possibility of getting the Democrats to agree to the cuts necessary to stave off sequestration without increasing taxes on the very rich, so while they are separate bills they are part of the same equation.

Sequestration is currently the law, and unless it's repealed, it's going to happen.

I can very easily see the Republicans allowing sequestration to occur if they know that the tax cuts will all expire.

Where I would be willing to make a deal is on the mandatory cuts to military spending that have their briefs twisted up their arses currently. We'll take the Pentagon cuts off the table...in exchange for a tax-hike on the wealthy. They get their bombs and planes and they get to pay for them too.

It's a Salome moment and I want Grover Norquist's head on a platter and his pledge gutted like a fish.
