A retired Army general just gave an epic response to Trump’s military parade demand
By Peter Mellado
Published on February 6, 2018

American sensibilities were rocked Tuesday when the New York Times reported that White House and Pentagon officials had been ordered to plan “a grand military parade” for President Trump. Two sources told The Times that Trump met with top generals last month at the Pentagon, where they began to draw up the plans.

After reading the New York Times report, retired Army Major General Paul D. Eaton released a scathing statement on VoteVets.org, and he didn’t mince words.

“Donald Trump has continually shown himself to have authoritarian tendencies, and this is just another worrisome example,” his barrage opens. He was just getting warmed up.

“For someone who just declared it was ‘treasonous’ to not applaud him, and for someone who has, in the past, admired tactics of everyone from Saddam Hussein to Vladimir Putin, it is clear that a military parade isn’t about saluting the military – it’s about making a display of the military saluting him.”

“The military is not Donald Trump’s to use and abuse in this way,” Eaton’s statement continues. “Our military is the very best in the world – they are not the be reduced to stagecraft to prop up Donald Trump’s image.”

“Any commander in chief who respects the traditions of the military would understand that. Unfortunately, we do not have a commander in chief, right now, as much as we have a wannabe banana republic strongman.”

He will probably have a big RED BUTTON leading the parade. When are people going to wake up and realize that the Republican Party is a Fascist Criminal Organization. Trump and his minions dream of the day that they can firmly establish a dictatorship. They will look for any pretense to declare marshal law and dissolve the legislature.

And the hat!!

You know he's designing one. With the hat, epaulets, and narrow lapels to leave space for all his medals!

Medals he is, no doubt, also designing to award to himself: Order of the Bone Spur!, Legion of the Deferment (with 5-clusters), the 'Personal Vietnam' Victory medal for not getting a STD, The Ivanka (shaped like a "piece of ass)", Legion of Teen Dressing Rooms, the Purple Heart for Twitter Carpel Finger/Pussy Grabbing, Bronze Executive Time (with clusters), Porn-Star 'Service' Medal, (also with clusters - lots, and lots of clusters!), Order of the Divot, and the Medal of the Electoral College.

And so many more....

As a PR stunt, to display his power just like Putin and others do. HE also has given top classified information to the Russians and others undermining our military, and threatening their safety , sends them on missions like the failed one he banned Muslims then made others turn on our military causing some to die. He's no American doing everything he can to help Putin and the Russians, and his policies are the opposite of a show of patriotism, like not putting more sanctions on them , doing nothing to stop their election meddling. and a lot more. He's a crook and a traitor and has sold out this country to Putin.

see the similarity with North Korea, Russia and other dictatorships, and that will reinforce the urgency of dealing with the threat our country faces. They will realize it can longer be relegated to the idle chatter of progressives and needs the immediate attention of all Americans. Think it is callled the urgency of now.

The Pentagon is already making plans for the Parade! We can not even take care of our Vets, but they can pay for a Parade!

The one at the end of the Gulf war cost $8 Million.

When is Congress going to crack down on the millions being spent on the 2 year olds wants?

but was told the streets in DC were not made for the weight of cannons and tanks. The equipment would do exactly what you suggested—-chew up the pavement.

This whole idea is just another of tRump’s obsessions with being a dictator. He thinks the whole
experience will be made to order for him. Ironic when you consider how hard he tried to avoid the draft back when he could have been in the military had he been so hot to trot for the troops. He is the world’s biggest hypocrite, just like his Christian credentials he tries to wave around from time to time. All fake and all for show.
