General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsDid anyone see Jennifer Granholm last night? She blew the lid off the NRA
She revealed that an investment firm, Cerberus, has bought a large number of weapons and ammunitions manufacturers over the recent past, making them the collective largest weapons investment firm in the world. Billions in profits.
She also revealed that their board members include many board members of the NRA.
Voting at the NRA is restricted to high dollar donors and the board members include many current and past House and Senate members.
As the talking heads of the NRA propose fear and loathing of our President, they are spreading a paranoid panic pushing gun sales over the top.
If anyone thinks the NRA is about 2nd amendment rights, their head is up their ass and they are being played like Sandusky's children.
Also of note, the investment firm, Cerberus is in "Greek mythology, the three-headed watchdog who guards the entrance to the lower world, the Hades. It is a child of the giant Typhon and Echidna, a monstrous creature herself, being half woman and half snake.
Originally, the dog was portrayed having fifty or hundred heads but was later pictured with only three heads (and sometimes with the tail of a serpent). Cerberus permitted new spirits to enter the realm of dead, but allowed none of them to leave." From the Encyclopedia Mythica
I don't know where to find or how to post the Current TV program Ms. Granholm hosts, "The War Room", or I would have.
Maybe someone here can facilitate that on this post.

(16,989 posts)Gov. Granholm (and her staff) have been doing some excellent original reporting lately.

(111,237 posts)Her financial coverage has also been stellar.
I know people are fanatically devoted to Maddow and with good reason. However, when she's not there, I urge people to switch over to Current and give Granholm a try. It won't be a wasted hour.

(12,409 posts)that clearly points out that the majority of Americans, including a majority of NRA members and gun owners, want stronger gun controls.
Also added that guns sales have actually been declining for many years and the sellers of arms are finding their customer base shrinking down to the very paranoid few.

The NRA is a gun business not a rights defender.
The only right the give a damn about is their right to rip off thousands of gullible paranoids.
