Does anyone think that Drump's die hard followers live vicariously
through him in order to fulfill their subliminal needs?

2. Trump's followers are average to well below average people.
Trump thinks like them and talks like them, and he's a billionaire (at least purported to be one). So, they think that they can be rich like him as well.

3. I think it's that he validates some of the nastier thoughts and impulses
some people have regarding "the other." He is making racism, misogyny, xenophobia and other forms of bigotry socially acceptable (at least in some quarters). Then combine that with the unfortunate tendency of many Americans to worship wealth and celebrity.

5. That is a VERY intersting thought. I would never have thought of it, but now that I think about
it, I think you have hit a big nail on the head.

7. They all watch reality tv and so now
they are getting a real life drama; damn the consequences. That's entertainment. Nuclear war? bring it on, show that (can't remember what * called him) who's boss and who cares if it brings on the death of the planet? We'll just watch it on tv. Anyhow, it's bringing the second coming! Woohoo!

8. Trump is like their real life version of Grand Theft Auto, they get their thrills
by seeing Trump go all WWE and act like a wacko cartoon character escaped from The Simpsons. In real life, of course, the majority of Trump's voters do not act like he does. They enjoy the entertainment and enthusiastically cheer for him to leap off the ropes and land a big belly flop on his opponents because it's easier than thinking.

9. Absolutley!
That's why they take criticism of him so personally. Every time he punches down they think about how much fun it would be to really give it to every one who has ever wronged them. They revel in the attention he gets and imagine themselves on Air Force One. They like knowing the world is going to go back to something they understand. A world where everyone knows their place and happily stays there.
