reps dont need a single dem to avoid shutdown

if anyone tells you its a dem shutdown, tell them that reps do not need a single dem to avoid shutdown. They only need simple majority that they have except that 4 reps voted for the shutdown. 60 votes threshold is a madeup rule has no mention in the constitution and they can easily change all the rules they want - they are the majority.

They’re too yellow to do that because they would have to pass a budget resolution first and they don’t want their name on the trillion dollar deficit they created.

Under Senate rules, reconciliation can be used only once per fiscal year.

well it does appear that they did pass a budget resolution for fy2018.
not sure where i was told otherwise. anyway, you're right in that the tax bill was passed using reconciliation (which also means they must have passed a budget resolution).

however, they are allowed 3 reconciliation bills each fiscal year: one for spending, one for revenue, and one for debt ceiling.

i would think the tax bill would count as a revenue bill, which would leave republicans with the ability to pass one omnibus spending bill using reconciliation rules to keep the government running.
