I wont be the next George Tiller: Writer Eichenwald rips Fox host over slanderous report

‘I won’t be the next George Tiller’: Writer Eichenwald rips Fox host over ‘slanderous’ report leading to death threats

According to Eichenwald, “a false line of attack about me from an online white supremacist conversation came flying out of @JesseWatters’ mouth,” and that Watters “did no reporting, failed to seek comment, and when I emailed him, demanding he call me to discuss his slander, he refused.”

Eichenwald posted a screenshot of the January 9th email he sent to Watters, which reads, in part: “I have now contacted you three times asking you to call me regarding your false, slanderous report. You accused me of being a pervert and a liar without performing even basic reporting, indeed not even reporting on tweets that put statements in context.”

He added, “You did so with full awareness that Fox viewers have come to my home to threaten me following your false reports.”

“I will not be the next George Tiller,” Eichenwald stated, referencing the Wichita physician who was murdered in cold blood by an anti-abortion zealot not long after former Fox News personality Bill O’Reilly attacked him on the air, calling him “Killer Tiller.”

Eichenwald followed the letter with a series of tweets explaining why he was going public against Fox News and Watters in particular.

Kurt Eichenwald was also the one who has epilepsy and got a tweet that resulted in a seizure.. I see they caught the asshole.

A Tweet to Kurt Eichenwald, a Strobe and a Seizure. Now, an Arrest.

WASHINGTON — When the journalist Kurt Eichenwald opened an animated image sent to him on Twitter in December, the message “You deserve a seizure for your posts” appeared in capital letters along with a blinding strobe light. Mr. Eichenwald, who has epilepsy, immediately suffered a seizure.

On Friday, the Federal Bureau of Investigation said it had arrested John Rayne Rivello, 29, at his home in Salisbury, Md., and accused him of sending the electronic file. The agency charged Mr. Rivello with criminal cyberstalking with the intent to kill or cause bodily harm.

He probably knows as much about Trump as anyone not actually on Mueller's team.

Eichenwald can probably make a very good case that he is not a "public figure", so would have a lower bar to win, but the slander is so tortious that he can probably also win at the higher bar as a public figure.

Wanton disregard for the truth.
Malicious lying.

That is grounds for even a public figure to win a slander suit. And the fact that they won't even talk to him shows that it is wanton disregard and malicious.

He's a good and brave person, and a great reporter.

I'm sick of the repug nazis openly threatening to murder reporters. Hope he sues Fox's socks off, and the advertisers lose their shirts in a boycott.
