RYAN CHALLENGER pulled in 1.2M last quarter

-- PLAYBOOK SCOOP: RANDY BRYCE, the Wisconsin Democrat who is challenging Speaker Paul Ryan, brought in an eye-popping $1.2 million in the fourth quarter of 2017, according to his campaign. His team also noted it had gotten contributions from 82,000 individuals with 102,000 contributions averaging $24 to $25. The strong fundraising push by Bryce comes as there has been widespread speculation about Ryan’s political future and how long he’ll remain atop House GOP leadership.

RYAN has won -- quite comfortably -- in a R+5 district for nearly two decades. Very few people expect that to change at this point. But the massive dough that Bryce is pulling down could illustrate the general national dissatisfaction with Republican leadership.

1. I hope he wins more than anything!

I want Ryan GONE! Actually, I would like to see him as something else I can't say here, but gone is good enough for now.

2. Randy Bryce is a top-notch candidate.

The "Iron Stache" is going to show Paul Ryan a thing or two.

3. Bryce could win. +5 isn't enough in 2018.

Not nearly. That could be tripped by a decent GOTV effort, I'm sure.
