i just watched David Letterman introduce Barack Obama on his new Netflix show

The audience did not know in advance who the guest would be. I suppose it was filmed awhile back. When he finally introduced “The 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama”, some gasped, some squealed, but they were all on their feet clapping furiously once he said ”44th President...”. The people were so, so happy to see him. I was thrilled too, but then I just cried. My God, what we have become. It seems like years have passed since I have felt pride in my president and country. I think I’ll watch the rest of the show tomorrow, I’m just too damned depressed to watch it right now.

2. I Just Watched The Entire Interview.....

and came to the computer to make a post to recommend people watch it. It was such a "human" conversation. It was inspiring and depressing. It was compelling. It also made me keenly aware that Obama's detractors have to go out of their way to ignore the reality that is before their eyes about the intelligence and compassion of the man. It doesn't matter if you agree with his policies or not. The hatred and vitriol that were directed his way were based on something much more base and vial than simple political disagreement. Now compare the grace and intellect that were fully on display during this hour long conversation with the utter insanity that we are faced with on a daily basis from the current occupant of the White House and it is indeed depressing. 50 years from now or 100 years from now the true brilliance of President Obama will be better and more widely understood-for now we have the stark contrast between our best selves as a nation and our worst. If you have the opportunity, do not fail to watch this. Letterman was an excellent interviewer-Obama was great.

3. I watched it tonight.

Articulate, thought provoking, compassionate, intelligent, humorous... just a few adjectives that come to mind. I mourn every day what we don't have anymore.

4. Mrs. Starsky and I watched it tonight.

We both found it to be comforting. It reminded us that things were normal once before, and they will be once again. These are just trying times we are living in.

It was also just great to see PBO and Dave back in action again. If you were ever a fan of either, you need to watch this.
