Hats off to Ted Lieu and Adam Schiff for being the most vocal critics of Trump' s GOP cabal:
I wish Schumer, Sanders, and Pelosi would attack more!

8. What political capital?
The dems have been neutered. Hopefully they can regain control of at least one chamber next fall, or the damage Trump will do in his last two years will be hard to come back from.

6. In short
our top leaders are reluctant to offend "our friends across the aisle" and many here don't want to hear that.
Besides, you can't say that on DU. ![]() |

7. I took a lot of heat for saying we suck at messaging and we need more voices to
be doing what Schiff and Lieu are doing.
Those whose hair lit up over my statements insisted I was being negative about Democrats. It's as Laydeebug always says: Don't let Republicans frame the narrative. We always do. |

13. Our leaders let Republicans frame the narrative
and our supposedly "liberal media" lets Fox decide what stories they will be talking about. There are more of us than there are of them It doesn't have to be this way. Grow a spine Democrats!!! Lead!!

22. Same here
I'll probably be banned from DU for this comment -- however -- several months ago, using another screen name, I lamented about how weak our Democratic "leaders" are in their response. I was banned from DU, my account permanently blocked.
We continue to take a bouquet of roses to a gunfight. Our "leaders" still don't realize the GOP is not interested in singing "Kumbaya" under a banyan tree. You deal with a mad dog by shooting it down in the street then cremating the carcass. We are dealing with mad dogs. Been nice talking with you . . . I'll probably be banned and blocked again. |

36. Don't think it's about offending. It's about fear of backlash.
Leadership believes they are in a good position to retake congress. I disagree with them. In 2006 they retool both houses. But so much has changed since then. Just as the DNC was out of touch in 2016, I think the old guard is also.

I think there is a major vacuum in Dem leadership. I am waiting for folks like Lieu and Shiff... Maxine and others to lead the removal movement. In the coming months, I cannot support any Dem. Candidate for President that does not take point in this fight.

20. Sorry, I was not clear.
In the primary, I am only interested in supporting someone who has confronted the Russian meddling in our elections and the removal of the current occupant of the oval office in a public and forceful way. That being, said. I will vote for the Democrat who received the nomination.
I have NEVER voted for any Republican. I've been voting a long time. |

What does "NT" mean?
And "KR" means "kick (as in kick it up) and route"? Or? I tried to google these two terms but got conflicting info, and they weren't in the Urban Dictionary when I looked. Also, DU doesn't appear to have a "find" facility... Thanks in advance! |

Although I don't think Lieu can since he was born in Taiwan. We need more democrats like them. People who are willing to confront the republicans head on and not play nice, like so many of them do. Enough of this high road shit. This is war. This is serious.
