I said yes to taking my yellow lab nephew four dogs now

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by DonViejo (a host of the General Discussion forum).

My brother he is 45 just remarried in August. My new sister in law gave my brother no choice and he has no balls to stand up to her or family they live in duplex it is her fathers. A kennel in yard full time or get rid of dog. It is 12 degrees outside and regardless if it was 80 degrees out. A dog is a social soul that needs to be with the pack. I hate seeing a dog chained to a dog box or in kennel.

When my brother and sister in law showed up at the house. I greeted them outside she was all happy I said this is fine no reason to come in and visit. I just grabbed his leash he knows us , she was like I thought we would sit awhile my sister in law. I said no reason to visit I was in bad mood. The Newfie and golden retriever and boog knows the cousin lab. So they sniffed each other’s bums ok it is you. And they went out into the yard to play. I text my wife over this but haven’t heard back from her yet. She will be ok she is animal lover as all of us.

6. You are a kind soul.

I just don't understand how some people can have a pet and then just get rid of it. We made a decision to not have pets anymore after our last guy died almost three years ago. Still, every day my husband drives a route to give treats to five dogs at three different locations, and he also feeds a pig twice a day that used to be someone's pet. He's about 10 years old, and I guess these people thought it was fine to just move away and leave the pig to fend for himself. We're going to try to find a sanctuary that will take him so he won't be alone most of the time, like he is now. If we were zoned for pigs, I'm sure he'd be at our house. I'm also sure that our neighbors wouldn't be thrilled about it.

If we find a sanctuary that will accept Steve the pig, we'll be relieved. But then I'll have to deal with my husband's broken heart. He has grown quite attached.

Sometimes I just think it'd be easier to be a callous, heartless person like your sister-in-law seems to be.

10. You have dogs

We been there but when they pass it is so hard. We used to have this German short haired hound dog mix Sadie she was our sons nana dog when he came home from neo natal. My wife and I were looking at pictures other day and smiling over Sadie she was total dog total love.

I don't blame you for not inviting them in. I would have told Cruella Deville that your home is also you new lab son's home and if Cruella wants to visit it wil have to be outside. Grant her the level of comfort she was prepared to give your new lab son.

12. I couldn't be with anyone who doesn't love animals.

Is this the same brother that married into a Republican family? I agree. No more animals for her. Glad that the lab nephew had you all to take him in. Hopefully, the Boog won't teach him his bad but hilarious habits.

18. Thank you for rescuing your Lab nephew.

If I was your brother, I would have kept the dog and ditched the wife. If someone doesn't like dogs like a family member (case in point, Trump) then there is something fundamentally wrong with them as far as I am concerned. I have a feeling that someday he is going to regret his choice. Both of them.
