Barack Obama shares his favorite books and songs of 2017
From his Facebook page:
During my presidency, I started a tradition of sharing my reading lists and playlists. It was a nice way to reflect on the works that resonated with me and lift up authors and artists from around the world. With some extra time on my hands this year to catch up, I wanted to share the books and music that I enjoyed most. From songs that got me moving to stories that inspired me, here's my 2017 list — I hope you enjoy it and have a happy and healthy New Year. The best books I read in 2017: The Power by Naomi Alderman Grant by Ron Chernow Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City by Matthew Desmond Janesville: An American Story by Amy Goldstein Exit West by Mohsin Hamid Five-Carat Soul by James McBride Anything Is Possible by Elizabeth Strout Dying: A Memoir by Cory Taylor A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles Sing, Unburied, Sing by Jesmyn Ward *Bonus for hoops fans: Coach Wooden and Me by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Basketball (and Other Things) by Shea Serrano My favorite songs of 2017: Mi Gente by J Balvin & Willy William Havana by Camila Cabello (feat. 4. Why is this the first time I'm seeing "IMPOTUS?"

13. Impotus occurred to me a couple of months ago 😉
Not sure if anyone else came up with it earlier, if so I haven’t seen it. It really suits the orange, unhealthy, ignorant ass, doesn’t it?

3. Wow! Obama reads!
If trump was asked what the best book he read in 2017 and he gave a truthful answer: "I do not read. Whatever I need to know I can get from Fox and Friends".

5. How refreshing to see.
I can't say enough about our previous POTUS. Thoughtful. Intelligent. Down to earth.
I doubt Donnie Dotard has read anything beyond the McDonalds menu board. |

10. Actually, Donald has somebody to read McDonalds menu board to him.
If that were me, I'd read it to him in jive!

8. I cannot imagine trump with a hardback book of current American public policy.
And I don't want to think of him listening to the late Sharon Jones or Mavis Staples. Not fitting.

14. "Sign of the Times" by Harry Styles is an epic song.
I love it that Barack Obama recognized this in that mix of artists!
