a matter of equality- reduced size piano keyboards. updated.

Last edited Mon May 13, 2024, 12:45 PM - Edit history (1)

pls check out this thread in music appreciation about the ds 5.5 keyboard. it’s 7/8 the standard size. women r at such a disadvantage in piano competitions/orchestra job when there is a simple fix.
there’s a petition in the thread to ask manufacturers to get off their dead butts and do this.

pls read and sign.

i was asked to include a bit from the linked post. so here ya go-

this is rly a matter of equality. piano competitions r still overwhelmingly won by men. only women w nice large hands can even compete. and how many kids get discouraged learning to play, when it cd b so much easier? they make so many reduced scale instruments now.
y not the most basic/important instrument in history?

at this point i think none of the major makers r even thinking about this. and honestly, how hard can it b? hell, by rights, they shd b a few bucks cheaper. a few new jigs, slightly altered blueprints, boom, a HUGE new market.
pls take a minute to sign this petition to get manufacturers to get off their dead butts.

My fingers have an 8 inch spread, but I know that is not true for many women, so I am happy to see this!

i have a terrible time finding good work gloves. when i do carpentry stuff, i just dont wear them.
made me look stupid when i was in the union. a bunch of us wd go together and bulk order from the 1 place we found. only good thing was the guys didnt steal them.
stealing your tools was something they thought was birthright.
