surfered's JournalSen. Cornyn's (R-TX, Toady) Statement on the verdict in Trump's trial.....
AUSTIN U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) released the following statement on the verdict in President Donald Trumps Manhattan jury trial:
This verdict is a disgrace, and this trial should have never happened. Now more than ever, we need to rally around President Trump, take back the White House and Senate, and get this country back on track. The real verdict will be Election Day.
The latest GOP talking point...
is that we cannot hold Donald Trump accountable for his crimes, because that would make America look like a Banana Republic, where they lock up their political opponents.
Excuse me, but do they think weve forgotten that at every single Trump campaign rally in 2016, they chanted Lock Her Up, Lock Her Up?
The GOP has taken on Trumps persona, exhibiting terminal hypocrisy, never ending shamelessness, and a complete lack of self awareness.
For all of Trump's allies outraged by his conviction.....
....claiming it was a political prosecution, etc, etc, etc, I would remind them that it was the Trump's own Justice Department that indicted Michael Cohen for his participation in this same crime back in 2018.
Trump found guilty of falsifying business records. Who could have possibly guessed.
Trumps Taj Mahal violated rules related to casino operations on four separate occasions and total fines amounted to $930,000.
Trump University defrauded more than 5,000 people and ordered to pay $25 million as a settlement.
The Trump Corporation and Trump Payroll Corp were found guilty of criminal tax fraud for...wait for it....falsifying business records.
The Trump Foundation was dissolved and Donald Trump had to pay $2 million to several charities as a fine for misusing his own charitable foundation to further his political and business interests.
A State Court found that Donald trump and his sons were liable for fraud for misstating the value of assets to banks and insurance companies . Donald Trump was ordered to pay $454 million and the Trump Organization's business certification was revoked in New York.
And now, shocker of shockers, Trump was convicted of falsifying business records.... again.
Who would have thunk it?
They've reached a verdict!
The Jury says it needs to fill out a form prior to an announcement of the verdict. Well know in about 30 minutes.
I have the Champagne ready.
Trump's defenders, including my Representative Michael Cloud, claim there is a "Weaponized Justice Department."
They never point out that Sen Menendez (D-NJ) is currently on trial in Federal Court for bribery. I haven't seen any GOP Senators or Congressmen protesting outside that court house, have you? Thinking rationally for a moment: Given the Senate is currently tied 50 -50, why would a "partisan" Justice Department be trying to jail a sitting Democratic Senator?
Additionally, the House of Representatives' margin is also razor thin, yet "Biden's" Justice Department has indicted Henry Cuellar (D-TX) on corruption charges. Haven't seen any GOP protests about that either.
This Republican talking point, as most are, is just a bunch of hooey.
Posted without comment, because I know this issue is controversial, but
You need to know this:

Russian bots interfering in elections...
In the summer of 2015, Internet conspiracy theorists and talk radio hosts promoted the idea that a U. S. military training exercise, Operation Jade Helm, was really a prelude to an invasion by President Obama with dissidents on the political right in Texas being rounded up and sent off to FEMA prisons operating out of vacant Walmarts. Really!
But instead of calling out this nonsense for what it was, several Texas politicians actually lent credence to the rumors by pandering to their base who believed this bunk. Congressman Louie Gohmert expressed his concern, Senator Ted Cruz said he had reached out to the Pentagon, and Governor Gregg Abbott even deployed the Texas State Guard to monitor the exercise. Sheer lunacy!
Former CIA Director, Gen. Michael Hayden, appointed by President George W. Bush, revealed the hysteria surrounding Jade Helm was the handiwork of Russian bots. He also concluded that based upon their perceived success, the Russians
were going to go big time
and play in the electoral process. History of the 2016 election proved the good General was correct.
Russia is currently running a disinformation operation aimed at European elections. Given the gullibility of too many in our own electorate, the lack of political courage of our leaders to speak truth to their base or their tacit approval, and combined with too little response to the meddling in our 2016 election, we can expect the Russians will be back in our next election, bigger and badder than before.

Happy Memorial Day to All, including the Human Scum that is working so hard to destroy our Once Great Country, & to the Radical Left, Trump Hating Federal Judge in New York that presided over, get this, TWO separate trials, that awarded a woman, who I never met before (a quick handshake at a celebrity event, 25 years ago, doesnt count!), 91 MILLION DOLLARS for DEFAMATION. She didnt know when the so-called event took place - sometime in the 1990s - never filed a police report, didnt have to produce the dress that she threatened me with (it showed negative!), & sung my praises in the first half of her CNN Interview with Alison Cooper, but changed her tune in the second half - Gee, I wonder why (UNDER APPEAL!)? The Rape charge was dropped by a jury! Or Arthur Engoron, the N.Y. State Wacko Judge who fined me almost 500 Million Dollars (UNDER APPEAL) for DOING NOTHING WRONG, used a Statute that has never been used before, gave me NO JURY, Mar-a-Lago at $18,000,000 - Now for Merchan!
