RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - A family member has been charged after a 3-year-old brought a loaded gun to Maymont Preschool on Monday.

Just after 2 p.m. on May 6, officers were called to the preschool in the 1200 block of South Allen Avenue for the report of a firearm at the school.

Officers arrived, and a staff member reported and recovered a loaded gun that was found in a male student’s backpack. Officers took the weapon.

...snip...

RPD says they charged a family member, 34-year-old Valentino Christian of Chesterfield, with allowing access to firearms by children.

3. A more responsible adult would have handed the three year old boy a loaded AR-15 to take to preschool.

What a wonderful show and tell item to share with his entire class. He would have surely been the most popular kid in his class.
