Bernie Bros Made Me Finally Recognize Misogyny in America

Thrity Umrigar - Author, ‘The Space Between Us’

Decades ago, Gloria Steinem had talked about the “click,” moments, those aha, revelatory, eureka moments when a woman suddenly recognizes the gender discrimination she faces. I am sorry to say, I never had one of those consciousness-raising moments. That is to say, I had plenty of them. But on the behalf of others. Never for myself.

Until now.

I have the Bernie Bros to thank for this.

Killary. Shrillary. She who yells too much. And a million other slurs that I see daily on Facebook but which are unprintable in this family publication.

Campaign dismisses claim hacker accessed Clinton email server

Campaign dismisses claim hacker accessed Clinton email server
By HANNA TRUDO and JOSH GERSTEIN 05/04/16 08:24 PM EDT

Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign is dismissing claims from a Romanian hacker known as “Guccifer” that he managed to gain access to the private server where Clinton stored her emails while secretary of state.

Hacker Marcel Lehel Lazar, who was extradited to the U.S. in March to face computer crime charges, told NBC News and Fox News in jailhouse interviews that he looked at information on Clinton’s server after obtaining details about the set-up from emails Clinton exchanged with Clinton outside adviser Sidney Blumenthal. The interview is set to air Sunday.

Trump is behind this BS, no doubt.

Donald Trump starts the general election behind Hillary Clinton by a mile

Donald Trump starts the general election behind Hillary Clinton by a mile
By Philip Bump May 4 at 9:55 AM

With truly remarkable timing, CNN and its polling partner ORC released a new national survey previewing the general election before the sun even rose Wednesday after Donald Trump essentially clinched the nomination. How did they do this? Magic.

What the poll shows is that the almost-certain general election contest between Trump and Hillary Clinton (barring some dramatic change of fortunes) is Hillary Clinton's to lose. What it also shows, perhaps more alarmingly to Team Trump, is that Clinton's current lead has expanded since an initial surge of interest in Trump last fall.

Buzz grows in Dem circles over Kaine as Clinton VP

Buzz grows in Dem circles over Kaine as Clinton VP
By Manu Raju and Deirdre Walsh, CNN

Washington (CNN)Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine is emerging as an early favorite to be Hillary Clinton's running mate among major Democratic donors, operatives and congressional Democrats, who argue the Spanish-speaking former governor could be a steady hand in a difficult election environment.

As the party establishment begins to shift its attention to a likely general election matchup against Donald Trump, many Democrats are now arguing that Kaine could help balance out the ticket by helping Clinton with independents in swing states and even expand the political map in the fall with his moderate profile, executive experience and foreign policy background.
And as a politician from a southern state who has endured tough elections, proponents believe he can handle the grind of a high-profile presidential campaign.

Florida poll: Republican ‘brand damage’ bolsters Clinton (Clinton 49-36% over Trump)

Florida poll: Republican ‘brand damage’ bolsters Clinton

Whether it’s Donald Trump or Ted Cruz, the Republican presidential nominee looks like a sure loser to Hillary Clinton in Florida because of the Republicans’ lack of popularity with crucial voting blocs in the state, according to a poll conducted last week by the business lobby Associated Industries of Florida.

Clinton would wallop Trump by 49-36 percent if the election were held today and she’d best Cruz 48-39 percent, according to the poll of 604 likely Florida voters.
