About IrishO4040

Ive been a democrat for years and supported the Healthcare reform law prior. In august my mother went into the hospital with swollen ankles. She had underlying conditions that required monthly visits and the insurance company decided to block further treatment. The doctors dont tell you that thier not giving herr the treatments instead they try to comfort you by saying she isnt to that point yet. I watched my mother fill with 43 lbs of fluid over 5 days and her breathing shut down. She went on a ventilator as her advanced directive stated and doctors tried to get me to overide it within 3 hours of her being put on. A man in a business suit working for the insurance company who I will never meet ended my mothers life in her fifties. A woman who was joking and smiling with me until the day she went on the machine. A lucid woman who began to sense they were letting her die. A remarkable woman who looked in my eyes with tears and said "I wish you could fix me, thier letting me die"...Please Never believe the death panel rhetoric.
