Is there any doubt that Mr. C Student would have ever gotten into Yale if his last name wasn't "Bush"? Let's stop affirmative action for the priviliged first; then we can worry about the "unfair" help to minorities . . .

1. I second that.
Imagine, if he had to go through the same admissions requirements as real mortals and weren't admitted to Yale, then there's a chance we wouldn't have him for President.

I love my country...but I fear my government.

2. Reporters are actually asking that question
They are not dwelling on it, just asking.

I am a Democrat.

3. Ari the Liar refused to answer it
at the W.H. briefing. It was brought up on a number of programs tonight, but was never really addressed.

4. Twenty to twenty-five percent
of Yale students get in under the affirmative action program for dumb rich kids.

I taught some of them when I was a TA.

What if FDR had been afraid of
alienating the moderates?

6. What many people don't know is...
... a disproportionate number of kids in Ivy League and other elite schools come from wealthy private high schools, where the majority, if not all, the students are white, priviliged, and upper class, whose parents work for rich, influential corporations. I read an article in either Forbes, Money, Fortune... one of those financial magazines... and they did a study that confirmed this. "The feeder system is alive and well" they said. Elite Universities also have a preference towards wealthy students, since they don't have to rely on scholarships or financial aid.

8. Here's another question
How does a college create a diverse student body if admissions are color-blind?

What about sex? Is it permissible to balance the M/F ratio? Is it permissible to IDENTIFY the sex of the applicant?

What about strengths? If a law school admits more people with higher verbal scores than higher science/math scores, could the science/math people sue?
