Foreknowledge of the Iraq War
Edited on Sat Jan-13-07 11:51 AM by ck4829
"And, as a last resort, we must be willing to use military force. We are doing everything we can to avoid war in Iraq. But if Saddam Hussein does not disarm peacefully, he will be disarmed by force."
- George W. Bush, March 8, 2003.

"If we go into battle, as a last resort, we will confront an enemy capable of irrational miscalculations, capable of terrible deeds."
- George W. Bush, October 16, 2002.

"See, I do think it's important always to have war as the last resort, and that we must try diplomacy as first resort, in order to bring the peace."

Was the military invasion of Iraq REALLY a "last resort"?

1. Jack Abramoff
2. Trevor Flugge of the AWB
3. George W. Bush in 1999

1. Jack Abramoff
"It seems that the President was very sad to have to come out negatively regarding Israel, but that they needed to mollify the Arabs for the upcoming war on Iraq."
- Jack Abramoff, March 18, 2002.

2. Trevor Flugge of the AWB
Was told by the Australian Ambassador to the United Nations, John Dauth, that military action was going to happen in Iraq, in February of 2002.
"The ambassador stated that he believed that US military action to depose Saddam Hussein was inevitable and that at this time the Australian Government would support and participate in such action,''
- Trevor Flugge, February 27, 2002.

3. George W. Bush in 1999
He was thinking about invading Iraq in 1999, said author and journalist Mickey Herskowitz. It was on his mind. He said to me: One of the keys to being seen as a great leader is to be seen as a commander-in-chief. And he said, My father had all this political capital built up when he drove the Iraqis out of Kuwait and he wasted it. He said, If I have a chance to invade.if I had that much capital, Im not going to waste it. Im going to get everything passed that I want to get passed and Im going to have a successful presidency.
