Unclutterer:

FlyLady:

I know, I know, that purple everywhere is a bit over the top. But I like some of her tips, and she helps me form good habits.

3. She doesn't talk about Jeebus, at least. And yeah, she is kind of sexist in that
creepy 50's/60's way, like the home is 100% a woman's responsibility even if the spouse helps out some.

But I'm single, so my home is 100% my responsibility anyway, lol. And I just ignore anything she says re children and spouses.

5. 15 minute zones is the only thing which stuck w/me...
and quite frankly it completely changed my view of cleanup. I organize in "piles" so this was the perfect solution for me. No, my house isn't anywhere near perfect but it is very livable (as good as it's gonna be for the 6 of us) and the 15 minute zone keeps me on task just enough without becoming overwhelmed (and when that happens I quit).

Today my 15 minutes was spent unneeded clothes out of the closet and into trash bags--tomorrow the oldest son will take them to a women's shelter.

6. I signed up at FlyLady
I have a feeling the 15 minute zones are all that are going to work for me as well. I work 1 1/2 jobs and do taxes and client write-up work evenings and weekends. I have no real schedule and am dealing with some health issues right now.

If I can spend 15 minutes in an area, eventually the piles and stuff I've moved from one house to another will diminish.

2. Just checked out Unclutterer; what a cool site! And a nod to one of my fave movies, Repo Man, even!
Thanks for the tip.

4. Unclutterer!!!!!! Thanks for that link. wonderful.
As a borderline hoarder, the need to find ways to store and organize things is very important. ( I have recently inherited many of my mother's things, even more of a "hoarder" than I, but she grew up during the depression, so it's understandable. I, however, have no excuse, I've decided it's genetic.)

Anyway, I just spent a wonderful hour on Unclutter in a photograph blog forum. Very good advice and suggestions for my own huge collection of photographs, my mother's, grandparents', inlaws'. I am putting off getting started on organizing, storing, scanning, or not scanning, digital or not, etc... and all those questions were delved into and discussed by many, some of whom were professionals.

I will go back to that site for other advice on storing particular things, of which I have many collections.
