Some Sites I use for streaming and they are free
The Internet Archive, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, is building a digital library of Internet sites and other cultural artifacts in digital form. Like a paper library, we provide free access to researchers, historians, scholars, and the general public.

It offers permanent storage and access to collections of digitized materials, including websites, music, moving images, and books. The Internet Archive was founded by Brewster Kahle in 1996.

With offices located in San Francisco, California, USA and data centers in San Francisco, Redwood City, and Mountain View, California, USA, the Archive's largest collection is its web archive, "snapshots of the World Wide Web." To ensure the stability and endurance of the Internet Archive, its collection is mirrored at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina in Egypt.

Some of the films available on the Internet Archive are:
The 39 Steps (1935)
Battleship Potemkin
The Birth of a Nation
Broken Blossoms
The Century of the Self
Columbia Revolt
D.O.A. (1950)
Danger Lights
Das Cabinet des Dr. Caligari
Dating Do's and Don'ts
Detour
Duck and Cover
Escape from Sobibor
Fire Over England
The General
Greed
Hemp for Victory
Intolerance
The Kid
Le voyage dans la Lune
Lying Lips
M
The Man Who Knew Too Much
Manos: The Hands of Fate
Manufacturing Consent: Noam Chomsky and the Media
Night of the Living Dead
Nosferatu (not public domain outside of the United States)

4. This is very cool.
I am hopeful that the "box" I bought will allow me to access some of these sites in the future. My laptop screen is so small and the audio horrible.

6. Internet Archive RULES.
Edited on Sun Jan-30-11 05:22 PM by Amerigo Vespucci
I have two complete Furthur concerts in iTunes thanks to Internet Archive, and watch "Carnival of Souls" there...I didnt mind the fact that Hulu had commercials in theirs, but at one point they inserted one of those "peak volume" spots where you're watching the movie, there's no dialogue, and BLAM! this vodka commercial with the volume cranked to "10." It just blows you out of your seat if you're nor prepared for it.

They also have a good supply of 50s-60s "Plan Nine"-style BAD horror / sci fi treats like Tor Johnson's "Beast of Yucca Flats."

There is a tremendous volume of content, in both the live music and film archives. Highly recommended.
