Waukesha Co - day 3 - THIRD DAY OF FUCK-UP
"Today's new anomaly: Delafield again. 1 of 2 bags had a corrected seal number, matching its new tag and what had been entered in journal, due to a small tear having been made at top of bag by ballots after the original seal and its number had been affixed."

First day it was that Waukesha County had "a huge problem with chain of custody!"
Second day it was that Waukesha County had fucked up.
Third day, it is Waukesha Co - day 3 - THIRD DAY OF FUCK-UP.

What on earth am I going to call it tomorrow???

Wards 3&4 - total voters: 847.

Or could be 7& 8 which has about 560, or 9-11 with about 850.

as does the possibility of nefarious actions.

There's no way around that. Ever. I'm glad we're auditing this mess.

If it's beneficial for them to lie and cheat, they will do so -- every single time.
This is deeply ingrained in their personality and character. This is how they live.
They can change their behavior only when the fear of punishment is there.

6. it makes NO SENSE
if the bag has a small opening at the top, you would leave the seal intact, and put the whole thing into another bag with another seal and explanation. You would NOT open the original bag and take the ballots out to put them into a different bag, and then put that bag into the original.

That makes no fucking sense.

That is one of the many outrages.

edited to add that in Dane County, not only was Jim Troupis' attorney brother there from Idaho, but a suited guy (presumably attorney?) was there wearing an identifier of Americans for Prosperity!

And the volunteers are expected to argue their cases against those guys? :banghead:

46. When I went in yesterday aft to the Dane Co recount there was a similar problem
I came in to silence with many people there, and no counting going on. Turned out there was chain of custody compromise. appx 93 ballots came in from Verona in a non sealed plastic bag. The Verona election workers came in and were sworn in to testify as to the chain of custody. Nothing seemed particularly nefarious, but people were troubled, understandably. Kloppenburg and Prosser lawyers were there. I am not sure if this has been ultimately resolved.

14. the clerk said
that the bag wasn't closed properly, so there were openings in the top, through which someone could reach their hand. She also said that the bag was so full that they thought it might tear. So to remedy that situation, they REMOVED THE ORIGINAL SEAL, took the ballots out, put them into a new bag with a new seal, and put that bag back into the original bag with a new seal. WTF???

There is no possible explanation for not just dropping the improperly sealed bag into a new one with new seal and certificate on it with explanation and signatures.

31. Wait a minute...
Am I understanding this right? There have now been 3 separate instances of problems with the bags and seals?

I kept clicking on threads about problems in Waukesha, starting to read them and then saying to myself "oh that's old news, I read something about that incident yesterday".

I was wrong? These were new cases? This shit has happened 3 times now? :grr:

the first 2 in the op are one in the same, the third one is a separate incident

If you read 1 and 2, they sound like the same incident, but the third one is quite different.

36. I think you are correct, there are 3 instances,
I will try to provide links.

# 1 is from Brookfield.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.ph...

After more than a half-hour of meticulous instructions and ground rules relayed by Waukesha County's chief canvasser, retired Judge Robert G. Mawdsley, questions were raised about the very first bag of ballots to be counted, from the Town of Brookfield.

As canvassers and tabulators compared a numbered seal on a bag with the number recorded for that bag by a town election inspector who prepared the paperwork on election night, the numbers didn't match..."

# 2 is from Delafield.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.ph...

Apparently, the inspector's statement indicated TWO bags for Delafield. Lo and behold, there are THREE bags. First two seal numbers match with statement. Third seal number doesn't match with anything, because it hasn't been listed on statement. WTF???

# 3 is also from Delafield.

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2011/04/29/971493/-%28NEW...

"Today's new anomaly: Delafield again. 1 of 2 bags had a corrected seal number, matching its new tag and what had been entered in journal, due to a small tear having been made at top of bag by ballots after the original seal and its number had been affixed."

and

the clerk said that the bag wasn't closed properly, so there were openings in the top, through which someone could reach their hand. She also said that the bag was so full that they thought it might tear. So to remedy that situation, they REMOVED THE ORIGINAL SEAL, took the ballots out, put them into a new bag with a new seal, and put that bag back into the original bag with a new seal. WTF???

Soooooo, it looks like there are 3 instances of improper chain of custody at the very least, 2 from Delafield and 1 from Brookfield.

One is a fluke, two is a coincidence, three is a trend.

37. Alright - this is ENOUGH. These ballots should be deemed TAINTED.
I am in a foul mood. This represents a breach of a crucial part of a recount - To assure integrity of the votes being counted. This is JUST the type of BS we have been looking for - now that we find it, they deny our right to reject the ballots.

This is Failure of Waukesha Co Election Board to follow GAB rules for chain of custody. This is GROUNDS to have these ballots rejected or at LEAST to allow Kloppenburg her RIGHT to have further investigation into these f-ing anomalies before they are counted. If some voters are disenfranchised, that is the price that should be paid for such gross negligence OR potential criminal actions. Maybe voters will demand more from their election board in the future.

51. Thanks. They are saying no county is receiving greater scrutiny
than Waukesha. That could be taken to imply that IF other counties were scrutinized as closely they would find similar errors... The scrutiny is as close in MANY counties right now, with diligent observers and legal reps.

I am so glad they have a lawyer on site in Waukesha. Prosser has had at least 1 in Dane Co full time since Wednesday.
