I am glad ron paul announced as a republican candidate, and not because I like him, but because I
believe he will force some honesty into the republican charade

1. Unrec. People seem to be pushing the meme here that Ron Paul is somehow "honest."
Look at how he tried to deny the racism in his newsletter for an example of his "honesty." He is no different that any of the other grifters running for the GOP nomination.

valid, and that was my entire point

and as another benefit, he would HELP the Democrats, not hurt them against the repuke machine in the upcoming election

2. The fact that he runs as a Repug shows his dishonesty...
His followers insist he's a libertarian

Then he should run a libertarian ticket

but he knows if he does that he will be out of a job

5. I don't think that honesty CAN be introduced into the Republican charade...
And I fear that Paul will whip up a lot of hard-right sentiment.

But if it means a circular firing squad on the right, that could be an advantage!

7. It's not so much that he's 'honest',
as it is that he is far more likely to tell the truth on a handful of issues Republicans routinely lie about.

So, in a way, he is a thorn in their side and I'm all for his getting on Republican nerves. You?

13. That is the only thing I am referring to. The guy is a racist, which does fit in nicely with the
republican party
