Propaganda is the art of persuasion.
Edited on Tue Apr-26-11 09:34 AM by kentuck
We are persuaded that we have the greatest military in the world and we cannot be challenged. We are persuaded that our political Party is the strongest and cannot be challenged. We are persuaded that capitalism is the best economic system in the world and cannot be challenged. We are persuaded that our leaders are right and cannot be challenged.

We are persuaded that low taxes are good for our economy and for job creation. We are persuaded that deficits are bad and that we need to sacrifice. And so forth and so forth.

Propaganda is all about persuading someone to believe a certain way. The stronger the propaganda, the stronger the belief.

1. ...and many Americans tend to buy the whole lie-package hook line and sinker.
Even in the field of purchasing products, I find that many people are prone to believe the advertisers more
than a reputable source like Consumer Reports.

Since I go into many peoples homes (Repair computer Tech), I hear a lot of statements that I am forced to bear in silence.

...like the other day: "We just bought this baby (a 450.00 Camera), isn't it cool...the critics raved about it "
I'm "into" cameras and know for a fact that it was one of the lowest rated cameras in an issue via Consumer Reports.
But of course, the manufacturer is known for ...ah..embellishing their products.

Same can be said for all the items in your post.
