Trump: Obama wasn't qualified for Ivy League

NEW YORK (AP) Real estate mogul Donald Trump suggested in an interview Monday that President Barack Obama had been a poor student who did not deserve to be admitted to the Ivy League universities he attended. Trump, who is mulling a bid for the Republican presidential nomination, offered no proof for his claim but said he would continue to press the matter as he has the legitimacy of the president's birth certificate.

"I heard he was a terrible student, terrible. How does a bad student go to Columbia and then to Harvard?" Trump said in an interview with The Associated Press. "I'm thinking about it, I'm certainly looking into it. Let him show his records."

Obama graduated from Columbia University in New York in 1983 with a degree in political science after transferring from Occidental College in California. He went on to Harvard Law School, where he graduated magna cum laude 1991 and was the first black president of the Harvard Law Review. Obama's 2008 campaign did not release his college transcripts, and in his best-selling memoir, "Dreams From My Father," Obama indicated he hadn't always been an academic star. Trump told the AP that Obama's refusal to release his college grades were part of a pattern of concealing information about himself.

"I have friends who have smart sons with great marks, great boards, great everything and they can't get into Harvard," Trump said. "We don't know a thing about this guy. There are a lot of questions that are unanswered about our president."...

1. Trump proves you don't need to be smart to be born into a rich family.
Any idiot can do it.

10. That's basically it
people giggle at why so many people think Obama wasn't born in America. That's not true. These things are the new code word for flat out racism.

Trump is such a crazy ass.

Sad thing is, I'd rather see his sorry ass on TV over Palin, Bachmann, Gingrich, etc. So, maybe he serves his purpose? :)

4. Oh let's see....
he must have attended Columbia on the fabled "magic negro" ticket - the one where African Americans (or secret Kenyans in Obama's case) get free, all paid, undeserved perks - all taken from hard working white men.

Well Donald, with 300 million people in this country there happen to be a LOT of very smart people. Harvard can't well admit every single smart person...or even every GENIUS...in the country.

Or white? OR both? I get the distinct impression he's implying that the non-wealthy and non-white get into Harvard as tokens. Would like to see Harvard respond to this bit of insanity.

I'd say he was probably a pretty good student. Does Trump think this is part of the giant conspiracy dating back 45+ years to get Obama into the oval office?

35. He's heard? Is that anything like, they say? This guy makes me sick, literally sick to my stomach.
I had no idea he was this ignorant, had such a elitist attitude and was as big a fraud as I now know he is. I always thought he was a phony, but he has outted himself as far more in a very short span of time. Everyone, who is not a Republicon, and not rascist and not a complete fraud themselves, and is a free thinker who uses facts in their arguments, now knows what an ugly, dirty, filthy, rotten pig Trump is and that goes for his nasty, vicious, thinks she's better than everyone else, "socialite", heiress, business woman, fashion model daughter of his, Ivanka. Just like her old man in every way, just without the hair piece.....at least I think that's her real hair.

43. Trump is an idiot who ought to shut his mouth. We have a student in the neighborhood going to
Harvard, people get accepted all the time, just not all of them! So if Trumps friends aren't smart or rich enough to get their kids in, well, his friends kids need to get more involved, take more classes, get better grades, write better essays, then try again if that's what they want. Somehow though I think he's lying like a dog.
