Has anyone here used go to meeting to join computer based discussions?
I was wondering what to expect. I have attended webinars before, but not in this format. Did you use a microphone headset?

1. Often the IT meetings we had ...
....we would Skype in. Besides the Skype software, at the very least you need a mike. A webcam is good too, but conference calls usually don't use a webcam, it is almost always just audio. However they might have a camera and you watch and use the mike.

But it all depends on what venue the host uses for a webinar. A lot of times you watch and there is a chat box or you can talk via a mike.

Is that what you wanted to know?

Hope this helps

the "go to meeting" system and how similar or not it is to others I have attended.

3. I've done it, but as an adjunct to telephone based conference call, so not headset required.
But the headset is handy, even on plain old conference calls, nice to be hands free.

Go to meeting was like most other web based tools with the shared screen, chat window, list of participants, etc.

If you have a meeting you might want to load the app well in advance, and remember that it might work better on one browser than another.

7. IIRC, Firefox or Safari were the preferred browsers to use.

8. I can't see the difference between it and MOC...

We use MOC at work. Then again, we also use IE6, which I prefer to call RetroExplorer....

4. Yes, at the time it was quite helpful.
That was a couple of years ago, however. Now I would probably use Skype as you can do screen sharing.

6. The people doing this are using the "go to meeting" setup.
