Kloppenburg alleges Prosser had a one-on-one meeting with ..Walker on the day after the election...
Edited on Thu Apr-21-11 04:05 AM by iwishiwas
This is VERY interesting....Anyone know anything else about it? (the meet up which is being denied by the Prosser camp?). I doubt Kloppenburg would make this claim if she could not back it up.

Kloppenburg requests recount in state Supreme Court race

April 20, 2011 |(1588) Comments

.....The official tally shows Kloppenburg lost to Prosser by 7,316 votes - less than 0.5% of the 1.5 million votes cast in the race. The election initially appeared much closer, with Kloppenburg up by 204 votes, before Waukesha County Clerk Kathy Nickolaus announced her initial, unofficial tally failed to include the 14,315 votes from the City of Brookfield.

Kloppenburg also called on the board to appoint a special investigator to probe Nickolaus' "actions and words."

And in her complaint seeking a probe of Nickolaus, Kloppenburg alleges Prosser had a one-on-one meeting with Republican Gov. Scott Walker on the day after the election - an explosive charge in an officially nonpartisan race where the candidates questioned each other's claims of political independence.

The next day, Walker's administration asked the Supreme Court to quickly get involved in a Dane County case that has blocked implementation of Walker's controversial plan to sharply limit collective bargaining for public employees.

Prosser and Walker aide Chris Schrimpf denied the two met on April 6.

Melissa Mulliken, Kloppenburg's campaign manager, said she had been in touch with two or three people with knowledge of a Prosser-Walker meeting, including at least one who observed Prosser entering the meeting. She declined to name the people........................

2. yep. We would be having some very different discussions here now.
Hell, I don't think DU would exist since it was basically born out of the 2000 election.

3. The machines are not suppose to be cleared for a recount, but that is the only way some machines can
work to get this count done?

"The accountability board will file paperwork Thursday in Dane County Circuit Court to seek permission to clear the memory devices on some voting machines, spokesman Reid Magney said. By law, those devices cannot be cleared 21 days after an election or during a recount. But in 31 counties, the devices need to be cleared so ballots can be run through them again for the recount, Magney said."

Can some one explain beyond the weirdness of the Proseer/Walker meeting the legality of it?

4. This is why the machine recount IS a waste of money. BS in, BS out

Run the ballots through AGAIN and they spew out the same set of numbers from a potentially hacked tabulator...

I don't know why it would be illegal for a governor to meet with a Supreme Court candidate and sitting judge on the day after the election. "an explosive charge in an officially nonpartisan race where the candidates questioned each other's claims of political independence". I would also like to know why this in itself is explosive. Wouldn't it depend on the purpose of the meeting & what they talked about? I hope that Kloppenburg's campaign knows more about this meeting beyond what we see here--unless I am missing something.

5. Also from that Ohio hearing that re-surfaced-tampering before a recount:
-snip
Conyers then points out that Ms. Eaton asserts that on Dec. 10 Michael Barbian Jr., a representative of Triad GSI, unilaterally obtained access to Hocking County voting machines and records. He proceeded to “modify the computer tabulator, learn which precinct was planned to be the subject of the initial test recount and made further alterations based on that information and advised the election officials how to manipulate the machinery so that the preliminary hand recount matched the machine count.”

Ms. Eaton first relayed this information to Green Party representatives and then completed, signed and notarized an affidavit describing this course of events.

The affidavit of Ms. Eaton claims technician Barbian also explained how to post a “cheat sheet” on the wall so that only Hocking County workers would know what it meant, so that those conducting the hand “recount” of the pre-ordained precinct could make the final results correspond with the published computer count.

This shows that vote fraud gumshoes like the Collier brothers, the authors of the book Votescam: The Stealing of America, and Jim Condit Jr., of votefraud.org, were correct in charging that hand recounts of a pre-designated small fraction of ballots are meaningless because those precincts must be selected weeks in advance, removing the element of randomness.

I happened to have worked with Ms Eaton during the post election investigation. She was a low key, honest small town woman who just happened to be caught in the middle of something nefarious. I trust her word 100%.

8. What the GAB wrote about this
(From the memo sent to all election clerks in the state): "We are preparing to file an action in Circuit Court (represented by the Wisconsin Department of Justice) this Thursday, April 21 to seek court relief in some fashion to obtain permission to clear memory devices for reuse during the recount or to conduct a Statewide hand count of all ballots in the recount."

They said there is a problem in counties that can't get new electronic "prom packs" (the programmed device inside the machine that counts the votes) from their suppliers. These packs would be used for the recount (counting just the Supreme Court votes, I suppose, not the others). So the only ones they could use are the original ones from election day, but the proboem in that case is that they can't also preserve them. This sounds like it is definitely not going to be just running the ballots through the machine exactly the same as on election day.* So the GAB will leave it up to the court to decide between wiping the original packs or doing a hand recount of the state. That's how I read this. We'll see when they release the paperwork that they file with the court.

* Our own Lefta Dissenter talked to Kevin Kennedy, executive director of the GAB, on the street the other day and he said that at the recount the ballots will be looked at before they are put through the machine (to check for any stray marks that the machine may have trouble with) and the observers from both sides will probably be keeping a tally of who the votes are for. He said if the machine total differs from what the observers have, that could be brought up in a later challenge in court. The interview is on this YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b6qzLI7FtNk and well worth watching. Thanks, Lefta!

When a furiou George said to Jeb, after hearing the exit polls announcing Gore as the winner, "You said you took care of it!"
