Redistricting squeezes Rep. Joe Donnelly
Rep. Joe Donnelly survived a rough year for Indiana Democrats in 2010, winning a third term while his party lost two House seats and a Senate election in the Hoosier State.

His luck, however, appears to have run out.

The Republican-controlled Indiana Legislature this week released a proposal for the states new congressional map that fashions a new district for Donnelly that will make it much tougher for him to win reelection.

The new map, which squeezes out many of the Democratic voters he relied on while adding a batch of GOP-friendly counties, confirmed what officials on both sides of the aisle predicted all along: that redistricting is likely to be unkind to Donnelly.

1. "redistricting" a.k.a. gerrymandering should be illegal
there should be some sort of neutral oversight board with absolute veto power.
