Edited on Thu Apr-14-11 08:00 AM by Uben
We will be hitting a world population of 7 billion people today or tomorrow.

4. That's a pretty cool site.
This number is frightening:

39,294 Species that have gone extinct this year

6. But we will still hit it.
It's what happens when generation after generation have endless supplies of babies and never consider the impact of unlimited childbearing to themselves and the rest of the world. It's their right. Yes, it is. And 7 billion people later when we cannot feed nor cloth nor house all those people and babies are once again being discarded, literally in the streets to die of exposure, rest assured that the unlimited childbearing without any consequences crowd will still have their right to unlimited reproduction.

An old "Tazism" some of you may remember: "I'm fairly certain, we will, most likely, stupid ourselves into extinction" and we'll do it by overpopulation.

7. Your math is WAY off
Loosely calculated we're adding:

189 people per second
=
11,340 people per hour
=
272,160 people per day.

You need 93 million people (and change) to hit the 7 billion mark.
Not going to happen today or tomorrow.
Doing the rough math, it'll be a little under a year to hit the 7 billion mark

10. I'm all for more nuke plants
I say we take the state of Oklahoma, give everyone living there 300K and tell them to leave..

All the plants would be centralized there..
As well as a new grid...
waste will be shot into the sun with new cheap rockets NASA provides...

Once that's up and running then start really investing in fusion power

Of course in your World we should all be driving around in cars powered by thermite right
