So... who will admit to having egg on their face?
President Obama is giving his best speech yet. He shut down their outrageous tax proposals, stating, "That's not right. And it's not gonna happen as long as I'm President." Who will admit to and apologize for muddying up the board with lies about how Obama betrayed us all?

Maybe some corporate loophole stuff.

But I highly doubt we can raise taxes on the top unless the whole thing lapses.

that he will folow thorugh. he swore to stop torture, to close guantanamo, to have apublic option in the medical bill, and did none of those things, so we just dont know what he will actually do.

26. Certainly sounds like a line in the sand doesn't it?
...and that sand is located in the bunker off the 18th hole at the country club.

I can hear the protestations already from the billionaire cohorts of the Koch brothers echoed by their Capital Hill mouthpieces. I bet every one of them are having an aide tweet furiously about class warfare as I type this and how bad this is for "working families".

29. I have been pleasantly surprised at the speech...
Edited on Wed Apr-13-11 01:34 PM by W_HAMILTON
...but the speeches aren't the problem. The problem is when the rubber meets the road.

He gave this sort of speech before, then still compromised away his previously held convictions.

Is he going to do the same once again? For instance, regarding the tax cuts...he said he extended the Bush tax cuts because it was the only way to keep taxes on the middle class from going up. Well, what is he going to do when they come up for debate again? You are going to have this same problem.

I suppose the bright spot is that his starting position isn't giving away the farm like before. At least he's learned that much.

When it comes to whether or not he keeps his word this go around, time will tell.

Let me know who the people were that were attacking his speeches.

As far as those attacking what he does, well, I guess we have to wait to see how much of his speech is put into action before we can say anyone has egg on their face.

44. I will
..when he can stand up to this down the road:

"If we're going to resolve our differences and do something meaningful, raising taxes will not be part of that," House Speaker John Boehner declared shortly after his White House meeting.

We dont believe a lack of revenue is part of the problem, so we will not be discussing raising taxes, McConnell said.
