the House has ever had? Exactly what has he accomplished since being installed as speaker? How many jobs bills has he brought to the table to be voted on? He doesn't seem very good at bringing people together to get *anything* through.

Nancy Pelosi was succeeded by an orange imbecile.

2. The difference is he doesn't want to get anything passed/accomplished....
He just wants to put forth bills that will never pass the Senate or Obama's desk--even if they can't even win in the House, in order to assuage the teabaggers, and try to run out the clock for the 2012 elections. I can not believe that even the most despicable RETHUG could be so cynically unconcerned about the impact on Americans and our country's long term future, but that appears to be the case.

3. People have noted how ineffective he is. I've heard statements that Pelosi would
never let a bill come to the floor unless she had the votes. She WORKED it, he doesn't know the meaning of the word. It's like he's just been a bystander, showing up when he had to, giving a soundbite on his way out the door for cocktail hour (and it's always 5 o'clock somewhere).

5. He seems a bit better than Livingstone or whatever his name was...
the guy who liked to wear leather and get spanked...and some of the other noteworthy Repugnants.

6. Exactly! He's nothing but an amateur, but that just goes to prove
that he's been intoxicated most of his term in office because obviously the only thing he knows to do is blubber in front of camera but not get any actual work DONE.

Nancy Pelosi knew her shit and even though people on the other side didn't vote her way, they respected her because she got stuff done. Boehner doesn't have a clue.

9. sure seems that way
The general argument we've heard is Cantor and others are jockeying to replace him as the next speaker. He thus is trying to fight the Democrats and his own party at the same time. He's too afraid to strike a deal with the Dem caucus and too powerless to convince his own caucus of his own plans.

10. What dismays me the most about the speaker of the house and the news is
that when the democrats were in the majority, one of their main rally cries was where are the jobs! Now that they are in the majority all we have seen and heard is budget cuts, De-fund this, cut this and so on. Always followed by this job killing... So I ask where are the jobs Mr. Speaker. And how many more jobs have you taken from the American public today with your assault on Democracy ?

12. Seems to be doing quite well to me, the Republicans have
been pretty much dictating policy since November.
