Teabaggers and Wingnuts drag out the "Dems Hate the Military" meme for one more run around the block
The Teabaggers and Wingnuts in Congress (Wingnuts = Any member with an R after their name) are cynically using the American military like pawns AGAIN! By trying to pass a temporary CR with unacceptable riders and cuts attached, while claiming to fund the military for the rest of the year, they hope to convince the American people that the Dems dont support the troop, and that the Dems are responsible for shutting down the government.

It was nice to see Harry Reid come out forcefully and deem this Teabag farce for what it isA Farce.

Unfortunately, the Corporate Media will be only too happy to repeatedly parrot the Teabagger line.
Lets hope that the Dems have an extremely strong push-back to this crap.

2. It is in the eyes of those who see no other use for them....

This is one of the issues where we could completely destroy our political opponents if logic and arguments would count for anything in politics.

4. Well
I guess if you think that the only time we fight is for "corporate" profit, you might have a point.

I guess even on DU we forget history, even if it's very recent history.

We were savagely attacked by a bunch of religious nutcases in 2001. These nutcases were stationed, trained and supported by the leaders of Afghanistan, and they operated from Afghanistan.

We "properly" sent our military to eliminate this threat.

Unfortunately, instead of finishing the job, and bringing about a result similar to the end of World War II, we diverted forces, resources and ... most importantly ... "good will" to the pursuit of fantasy in Iraq.

Ask yourself this simple question; "If we had invested even half of the the troops, resources, diplomatic negotiations and State Department resources in Afghanistan that we instead sent to Iraq, would we still be in Afghanistan?"

I argue that the answer to that question is, "No"!

I'm proud of my service to this country as a 26 year member of the Navy.

I'm not serving for "corporate" profit. I'm serving because I love my country, my family and our way of life.

Some on DU seem to think that "supporting the troops" means "never sending them in harm's way". That's a very naive way to see the world.

6. As one who volunteered for service during wartime....
...let me say first, thanks for your service and your patriotism.

And secondly, please give some thought to the idea that we too often fight for corporate profit and too little fight for the truly oppressed.

5. I've alway been a "dreamer"
Don't know who said it, but I heard a quote that I like; "I don't belong to an 'organized' political party...I'm a Democrat"!
