I got subpoena'd today
I witnessed a car accident a few months ago.

Apparently there is going to be a trial of some sort.

Weird thing was...when they got my name and number for the witness list at the scene of the accident, it was before I changed cell phone providers. Yet, the police got my new phone number...I had literally forgotten all about it before the guy called me today.

2. Civics 101, enjoy yourself, even if it can be a bit arduous.
You could be called last on the day of the trial and I know the wait can be a pain (jury duty can be a pain but I enjoyed it when I was called up; we were released that day, however, I guess the guy pled out at the last minute or something).

3. Hmmm...I wonder how they got the new number?
I guess they can get what they need. No such thing as unlisted anymore! It seems hard to believe that they can use the 'Patriot Act' if you were not a suspect. I miss the old days.

Its kind of worrying honestly.

6. Type your name in to google.
I doubt they used nefarious means to find the OPs new number.

7. That was what disturbed me
I really wanted to ask the detective that called me...but felt better not to.

5. These things usually settle before trial.
You may have to go through a deposition, though. No big deal.
