1. can't see it happening
If he thought the tea baggers were going to turn on him, he'd run as an independent before running as a Democrat (and I don't think the Democrats would make him their nominee under any circumstances anyway).

3. What did I miss?
And I hope not. I want Massachusetts to have the chance to right the wrong they did to Teddy's seat.

4. It's too much money in it to be a Democrat rather than a Republican.
There are too many people in Massachusetts who are being hoodwinked by this guy. It's such a shame.

6. No................
He posed nude so he isn't possibly embarrassed enough to admit being a Repukkke is a mistake and switch sides.

He is up for re-election in 2012 as the special election simply determined who would serve our the balance of Senator Kennedy's last term. If it wasn't done this way the electoral composition (1/3 of seats up every 2 years) would be upset.

Let's see what he does once the Senate has to take up the tough issues like the 2012 budget.

8. He's just playing nicey-nice until the election.
Then he'll be what they want him to be.

12. Exactly. Ol' Scotty will turn into Jim DeMint Jr. if he gets his own term.
For four years, anyway. The last two will be him trying desperately to keep quiet and not draw attention to himself so everyone will forget about all the horrible things he did in the previous four. Thus he will be able to call himself "moderate" and get voted in again.

I hope to god the DNC puts together a better campaign this time.

10. Never, and if he did, I'd actively work to primary his ass in 2012.
I want that fuck OUT of Ted Kennedy's seat. I don't care WHAT letter is next to his name, he besmirches the legacy of one of the greatest Senators that legislative body has ever seen.

15. I think whichever of our esteemed Congressmen gets redistricted out
will do it.

Best part of that is that they're all on the Progressive Caucus in the House and nearly identical on the issues.

I'd like Ed Markey myself, although it would suck to lose him in the House. A Senator who can understand the intricacies of telecom issues would be indispensable in this age of internet mega-mergers.

16. Why the hell would he do that?
He has little in common with Democrats, and certainly with Massachusetts Democrats.
